Music and Dance

Music and Dance – The Finest Elixir for the Soul

Have you ever wondered what helps us forget the men who broke our hearts, or the weary burdens of money and daily worries? For her, the answer is simple: it is music and dance.

Once, someone asked her, “Are you a dancer?” She replied without hesitation: no. Yet she had tried sexy dance, pole dance, ballroom, and more. Among them, pole dance was the most difficult – after every session, her arms and legs were covered in bruises. It is a quite dangerous art; one slip from the pole and the ground reminds you of its weight instantly. Perhaps it is all this dancing that has shaped her slender frame, forever resisting the heaviness of flesh. Dance is, quite simply, her true love.

For women, she wholeheartedly encourages the practice of dance – any kind at all. Why? Because it refines the way one walks and stands, bestowing grace and fluidity. Many girls struggle with slouched backs, stiff shoulders, awkward posture. Yet through movements that weave arms, legs, chest, waist, and hips together, dance reshapes the body. And if you cannot attend a class, there is always YouTube – or even a simple practice stick. Swing it behind your back a hundred times a day, or train with it in poses – the stick is magic, transforming posture with time.

Those who know the rigorous training of beauty pageants would want to run away from the very first round. The most basic lessons are how to walk, how to stand, how to keep the chin lifted – always exuding confidence, like a newly crowned queen – alongside countless other skills. She is not a trainer of models or pageant queens, so she leaves it at that.

Dance and music together are like love in full bloom. They free both body and soul, filling life with vitality, joy, and lightness. Each morning, she plays music the moment she wakes – as if to summon the day with energy. She is no musician, no singer, no professional dancer, yet she loves music with a burning passion.

She delights in the haunting, emotional voice of Tuấn Hưng; the strength, intensity, and artistry of Tùng Dương. She holds a special fondness for revolutionary songs, brimming with spirit – especially when played through the ward loudspeakers in the neighborhood. To her, nothing embodies the soul of the nation more. At times, she wishes that no matter how modern society becomes, those old loudspeakers will remain, as a tender and familiar thread of Vietnamese culture.

As for foreign music – rap is her guilty pleasure. Surprised? It is simply irresistible; if you grasp the lyrics, you’ll find them sharp and bold as crystal. Some rap songs brim with wit and humor, entertaining yet effortlessly cool.

And of course, Western music videos with billions of views speak for themselves. Their culture is open, daring, far bolder than most Asian countries. Yet when boldness is paired with artistry – that is when it reaches true greatness. That, she believes, is art in its purest form.
