Character (in pain, trembling voice):
“The deepest wound in my heart is that he trampled on my dignity. My chest tightens every time I remember it. Those cruel, humiliating words – spoken so lightly, yet sharper than blades – slicing through my flesh. What has he left me with, other than poisoned arrows from his tongue, scars on my skin, and wounds carved into my soul?
I am still a human being. Every human has dignity, protected by law, deserving of respect. I refuse to speak with him, refuse to see his face. To me, he no longer exists. Invisible. It’s a pity – he does not understand this…or perhaps he chooses not to. The secret schemes behind my back, meant to grind me down – he knows them best. He just never imagined they would reach my ears. And so I stayed silent. Detached. But silence… my silence… is the highest form of contempt.
His hidden plots, his false nobility, his betrayal of rules and promises – he owes me an apology, and more than that, compensation for the wounds he carved into my spirit. But right, wrong – what do they matter anymore? He wants to claim he is Right? Fine. Take it all! He is right about everything – the rain, the sun, even the force of nature – it is all my fault, all my fault! Lord, ask him…is he satisfied now?
Ask him, Lord, ask him if he realizes that he has lost not only a person in flesh and blood, but also the trust, the respect, the faith of that person. Ask him if he is satisfied now!
(pauses, steady and cold)
No more explanations. No more defense. No more words. From this day forth, I shall be mute. I shall be deaf.”
