Article 140. Crime of Ill-treating Others
1. Any person who treats another person cruelly or humiliates a person under his/her dependence, if not falling under the circumstances prescribed in Article 185 of this Code, shall be subject to non-custodial reform for up to 03 years or imprisonment from 03 months to 02 years.
2. The offender shall be sentenced to imprisonment from 01 year to 03 years if the offense falls under one of the following circumstances:
a) Against a person under 16 years of age, a woman known by the offender to be pregnant, an elderly, sick, or otherwise defenseless person;
b) Causing mental and behavioral disorders to the victim with a bodily injury rate of 31% or more as prescribed at Point b, Clause 2, Article 140;
c) Against two or more persons.
