Environmental Protection Regulations in Mineral Activities

  1. Organizations and individuals engaged in mineral activities must use environmentally friendly technologies, equipment, and materials; implement measures to prevent and minimize adverse impacts on the environment; and rehabilitate and restore the environment in accordance with the law.

  2. Organizations and individuals engaged in mineral activities must implement measures and bear all costs for environmental protection, rehabilitation, and restoration. Such measures and costs must be specified in the investment project, environmental impact assessment report, or environmental protection commitment approved by a competent state management authority.

  3. Prior to commencing mineral mining, organizations and individuals must make a deposit for environmental rehabilitation and restoration as prescribed by the Government.
